Taking a break from costumery due to the fact I rediscovered how much I love to draw dragons.
A short scene where Sano has a meeting with Lord Ignear. While Alon has a more bumpy leatherlike skin, he has very sharp rocky scales, a high resistance to fire, and has lava living in his skin as well.
Alon Ignear is Dror's father, Lord of his clan, and one of the three Noble dragon families that reside in a valley called Zathama.
...Alon is not a nice dragon. There was lots of turmoil fighting mortals and magicians while he was growing up, along with two wars that he fought in before becoming the Lord of his clan. And as soon as he became a Lord he became extra stringent of where his family went, became protective and became a perfectionist. However he is very powerful, and is surprisingly good with handing dragon politics so most of his clan dont bother objecting to his decisions.
Alon is what I call a poisenfire dragon. If he uses his breath weapon/fire breath on someone and the burn is severe, he can control the burn. For example, even after the person might have healed skin tissue, the body had absorbed the heat of the burn and using his magic, he can decide whether the burn will cause pain or not.
Dror, despite being his son, is often the target of his anger and overprotection since he cant really control him, but also since Dror is magicless. And the poor guy is destined to be the heir of Alons family. Being a Lord, Alon is very honor driven, and having a magicless dragon in a noble family is embarrassing, so he believes he has to tell Dror or corral Dror into what he wants him to do all the time.
Either he became this way because of his "youth", or he was just a mean bastard dragon from the beginning. I haven't decided yet, but for now I'm having him be a bastard.
This looks amazing! I LOVE Alon's design, he really does look like he's got magma skin, and the pebbly texture/obsidian-looking spikes tie in really well. That's a fantastic concept for a special ability, by the way, and knowing what I do about this guy it kind of gives me the chills to imagine how he'd use it. On top of all that, the composition looks fantastic. It does an amazing job of getting the dragon's scale across, and it's interesting to wonder what Sano's thinking and what his face looks like right now. X3 I'd love to see the background in more detail, just to further get the point across.
Yeah. D: I dont really like how powerful it is, but it suits him perfectly. Besides, I find his third daughter Adi to be more terrifying with her own powers, which is why she's his favorite I guess..
Hee, Alon might look terrifying, but Sano is backed up by the great Dimension dragon, and thus cant be harmed by Alon unless he wants to face the consequences. x3 So Sano is safe, and is likely wearing his usual confident smile. Also its Sano. He's faced scarier things than a cruel dragon lord.

And of course he's wearing his confident smile, I don't think "terrified" is in his range X3
XD Sano is never terrified. His face is cemented with smiles or rainbow tears of joy.
Awesome drawing though. Ffff that skin texture looks amazing. He kind of looks how I picture Smaug. X3
Thanks! Was trying some new ideas. :3 Who's Smaug?
