EDIT: OH YES. I forgot to say that he's wearing a white armguard with black gloves underneath, so you cant see his fingers/hands. DX
This is not my character, he belongs to !
So, this was first sketched out in class,(whoops!) and then edited on Photoshop CS2.
And all I can say is, I hope I did a decent job. Dx I spent a lot of time on this outfit, deciding colors, and even had several detailed patterns originally drawn on the outfit! But in the end, I simplified, and I only hope I meet with your expectations! ><;; I tried to make it more uniformish..and I hope he looks ok..I am redrawing Mei btw, so expect to see it after I finish requests! ;D
I never really imagined Lin to look like this (then again, I'm really bad with visualisation and this drawing helped with out with trying to figure out how he looks).
I like the drawing, but I can't help but notice that the style is a little different from your drawing of Mei.
What I like a lot about the drawing is the outfit (especially the hat! Looks a bit like a (blue) beret and the uniform is pretty intricate too!).
But yeah, Mei would definitely fall for those types of looks hehe!
Thanks a lot for undertaking such a hard task. I'm sorry for not giving you enough details to work with and as a result of this drawing, I think I've gotten more interesting in working on Lin's character (a major flaw that I've been working on is that I focused way too much on Mei)
Excellently done!

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone.
I spent a lot of time just trying to figure out a style that I think would be appropriate, but you're right it is different from my drawing of Mei, because as time goes on, my style changes, shifts, and progresses..slowly. xD
I thought that I should design an academy outfit. I had all kinds of different designs planned on the clothes, so I can easily go back and fix it to the original; something closer to Mei's if you really want it. Another reason why the clothes are different is because they were separated, and I wanted to make a outfit that looked like something he would wear. :3 The colors are fully open to change. xD
Really? That's good! I wanted to make him look attractive, so I tried giving his hair a looser feel that what I originally intended.
Its alright! You gave me plenty of information!
OH YES. I forgot to put that in the Deviation information, he's wearing a white armguard with black gloves underneath, so you cant see his hands. DX
I quite like the style as it is, but if it wouldn't bother you too much, I'd be interested in seeing what other outfits you had in mind just out of curiosity. (but then again, I understand that you are beleaguered with all sorts of work, such as exams/final projects and other sketches.
It's also great that the style is different; Mei's clothing in your previous drawing, I think, is more suited to countryside, rural peasant folk; her clothing would represent free will and individualism while Lin's clothing is one of adherence to the order, discipline and power.
The expressions too! Mei is a very sprightly, happy-go-lucky girl from the countryside while Lin is a quiet, cool-headed Ensiate-in-training who tends to dwell on more depressing matters.
The loose hairstyle is good; I can't imagine him having any other sort of hairstyle (such as an afro), and I think it suits his personality well.
Oh whoops; sorry about that!

Awesome! (Should I decide to dress up for Fanime next year, these could give me some ideas, but for an author to dress up as a main character would come off to everyone as self-insertion, so I'm not particularly sure )
Oh, and geez, you're redrawing Mei? Wow! You're putting a lot of effort into this! I'm quite honoured; never before has my work been given such veneration!

You mean dressing up as a character from your own series? That would be cool, but no-one would know where you are from. xD
Yup! After looking at it again and eying too many mistakes, I decided to redraw her. Well you're welcome! I love her character, so I just cant keep away from it!
Well, it's either that or dressing up as a Narutard or a Bleach-tard (I tried the latter >.< didn't work so well).
What I'm trying to say is, if you don't dress up as a character from an extremely popular series (usually wrongly so, I would like to call them 'opulist sell-outs', you're most likely not going to hear 'OMG YOU'RE (insert insanely popular character here), I CAN HAS PICTURE!?!?!?!?!' And besides, if I ever learn how to do sewing, knitting, and all that jazz, I would like to add a bit of my own spices to the recipe. After all, people do get tired of eating the same dish over and over again (retrospectively, that was a really bad analogy, but I hope you get my point!)
Whoa! There were mistakes in that drawing!?
And I also can't believe that Mei is such a likeable character. Thanks!

You don't necessarily need to dress as Naruto or Bleach, there's plenty of animes out there. Or you could choose video game stuff too like anything Final Fantasy to Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
True, there wasn't very many Kingdom hearts cosplay this year because FINALLY its starting to die out. xD

Ah good. I was so worried that you might say its too different, but I'm glad it worked out!
Yup! I originally had him in a smirk-sh smile, but it didn't fit, so it was redrawn.
Thanks!
Np!
