| General Convention Information for Beginners: Conventions are awesome. End of story. They are huge assemblies of people with usually the same interest as the con type. There are hundreds of conventions across the US, and thousands in the World. Since I've been questioned on what to prepare for with conventions, I decided to create this helpful list of what to do for regular cons and the famous Comic Con. When you want to go to a particular con, make sure you check out the website very carefully. Check the date, the location, and most importantly the methods of registering for tickets. Its very important to know if you registered completely or just filled it out halfway to know you don't have a confirmation code so you cant get a ticket. Although its VERY important to grab a ticket before they sell out, you need to have a place to stay. This is very important for you to have a more enjoyable time at a convention. It sucks sleeping in a car without a shower for one to three days. PEOPLE WONT LIKE CRANKY SMELLY PEOPLE. ESPECIALLY ME. If you have a hard time paying for the hotel, start grabbing your friends or friends of friends to share the room with you to chop the price down. GET IT ASAP. I mean it. Tickets CAN sell out even if you know that it has never sold out before in the history of the con. Some conventions have ticket selling limits; especially Comic Con. Also, sometimes in the early stages of registering for conventions, the ticket prices are cheaper! And as time goes by, the ticket prices get more and more expensive. Thus, buy them early. Humans need food to survive. And since I'm a human(as much as I wish I was an alien..)I need to eat LOTS. All cons have food available, but usually its highly overpriced and doesn't satisfy the hunger in your stomach. Bring lots of snacks, powerbars, nuts even to eat as you wander through the con or while waiting in line. You will be walking a lot, so you will burn off the food faster than normal. I also suggest having back-up money reserved ONLY for food in case if you are absolutely starving. 20-30$ is nice if you and your friends decide to go out to eat after the con is over. Get a job, beg your parents, whatever means you use to get money make sure you bring a few hundred for spending on fun things. If you are only staying for half of the con, you wont have to worry as much, but its important to be careful what you are willing to buy. People tend to charge a bit more at conventions since its easy to raise the price if someone really wants something. Its also VERY important to divide each day with a limit of how much money you will be spending. Its very easy to loose the money you brought with you, SO SPEND IT WISELY. ROOMS/FLOOR: Comic con is a huge convention with THREE floors. The first Floor consists of the Lobby, Volunteer/Disabled Services, and most importantly the Exhibition Hall. The Exhibition Hall is where: The Second floor was devoted to How-To Panels. Third Floor was for All of the Panels, Badge Pick-up, Freebies Table and Autographs! :3 EXHIBITION HALL: VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:: |
